The printer is small and very easy to work. With no experience of setting up a printer had pencilled in 1/2 day to sort, after 20 minutes it was up and running - nicely surprised. The instructions via pictures were easy to follow. Printing is fine - have printed emails, word documents, extracts from the web, pdf with ease and speed. The printed product is very sharp. We attached it up to a mobile phone via an app, again very simple and within seconds we had printouts. Same quality as if printing directly from the computer. The downsides - It only prints black ink which is limiting. I had hoped to use it as a family printer as well as for business use but the lack of colour printing limits that ability. - Need to ensure your paper collection tray is pulled out as the paper will feed itself back itself you will reprint. A little care is needed to where you place the printer as the collection paper tray does stick out and as mine is housed below the printer I have caught my leg on it and concerned over its sturdiness

Given this is a modern printer, I had high hopes that technology had advanced in line with my expectations but sadly, I feel this printer isn't all that special. The positives : Very compact and lightweight. Packaging and unboxing was quite a pleasant experience without styrofoam bits everywhere! Quick print speeds and software setup on a PC/MAC is pretty straight forward. Prints were good quality - I tried some photos and the quality isn't amazing - it's pretty good but artefacts and DPI resolution isn't high enough for you to stick your prints on the wall. Not so great: The WiFi setup via the App doesn't work. After spending 30 minutes, it just wouldn't finalise setup on my Android phone and I ended up looking for a trusty old USB cable, and doing it the old school way - which went without a hitch. It's 2018 - a Wifi printer shouldn't need to resort to a cable. This printer is also not Google Print compatible...again it's 2018 and modern technology needs to be supported. I wasn't keen on the idea of having to load the paper into the paper tray whenever I need to print as opposed to holding a stack of paper internally. I guess that's the compromise with having such a small footprint but personally, I don't like having to feed the paper in everytime I want to print. My final issue is with the noise of this thing - it's not quiet and fairly loud when it gets going. Overall - It's a basic all round printer for those who need to print the occasional thing but the price is too high for the features it's offering. If the RRP of this was around £60, then ok but better options are available at the RRP price point of this

First impressions of the machine are very good. It comes packaged with clear instructions, but you don't really need them - it is very simple to install, even where there are a variety of machines - it worked just as well with my mac as my PC. It isn't the first wireless HP printer I have had and I can say that wireless connectivity does seem good and strong - it reached parts of my house that its predecessor couldn't do. Printing speed is plenty fast enough for a home office, and I found copying worked pretty well too. I was rather frustrated though that scanning was rather slow, and that was made worse by there being no sheet feeder - I guess that is the price you pay for such a small unit. The quality of printing that this little unit produces is for the most part very good, nice and crisp. On occasion however the output is more grey than black - I am still using the delivery toner and, although I am pleased with how long it is lasting, I do wonder if the output would be darker with a new cartridge. Overall, this is a very nice little machine. It would suit most people in a home office and would be good for a student. For my use, I think the lack of a sheet feeder for the scanner will prove to be too much of an issue for it to replace my existing machine, but as a backup it is certainly a well priced and very viable option.

It’s a nice compact printer. Print quality is good and it prints fast. The only issue i had was printing 40 pages at a time of very light print (dress making patterns so only a few lines to a page at most) the printer would overheat and stop printing and wouldn’t start again until it cooled down

This is my first WiFi-enabled printer, and they don’t tend to have a good reputation, so I was a little uncertain about how easy this would be to set up. The documentation is a little on the light side, but surprisingly, it’s fairly hassle-free. Holding the WiFi button makes the printer find your router, and from then on, it only took one or two tries to connect devices to it. Laptops and desktop Windows PCs were able to find the printer automatically, and after downloading the drivers, worked well. Android phones and tablets sometimes were a little slower to connect, but WiFi-direct got there in a minute or so, and I was able to print out emails and PDF documents very easily, and with good quality. After initial connection, all of the devices I’ve connected have been able to print without further problem. The quality of prints is very good, as you’d expect from a modern laser printer – black text is crisp and well-defined, and greyscale graphics are well-rendered and clear. Scanning is a little tricky, but photocopying very quick and easy.

The printer arrived as promised and the unpacking process was pretty simple. Loads of instruction sheets and booklets and in multiple languages, so not super easy to follow if you're impatient and just want to get started. I work in IT but found the setup process a little confusing as when using the app installed from online it gave two printer options and initially I selected the wrong one. After a few **** words I had the printer connected and all was good. The app could have been just slightly clearer. My first print took a little longer than expected as initially, the paper wouldn't load. After a few attempts, it just worked and all was good. The print quality from such a small box was very impressive and the speed was very good too. Was a little disappointed to find the printer was monochrome so not much good for printing photographs. I used the scanning function and after some initial problems with the document not appearing it worked very well. Positives * Small footprint * Excellent quality and speed of printing * Excellent scanning to various formats Negatives * Black Ink only * Initial setup was a little confusing but simple to use once setup The overall impression is very good printer/scanner/copier for an office or someone who doesn't want colour printing. If there was a colour version available then it would be hard to fault.

I have used 10+ different HP Laser Jet Printers in my professional life so far. This is the one I like the most. It took me less than15 minutes (including the time needed to install its drivers) to set it up. I tried out the printing and scanning functionalities, and they worked great! Printing is fast and quiet. Scanning is surprisingly quick and in high quality. I used to spend tens of seconds to scan one page with my other scanner, and this MFP only took 2 seconds! Wow! I also tried out WiFi printing from my iPhone/iPad, as well as from my iMac and MacBook Pro, and this printer just worked!

The web interface is easy to use and very robust with tons of features. Must have for someone looking to scan their documents to a network share.

The HP LaserJet Pro M28w is an easy to use device and gives great quality print outs. The print outs come out sharply and show the finer detail without being blurry or wishy washy. It is straightforward to setup. The HP LaserJet Pro M28w looks a smart neat little device from the outside but is a bit heavy. The WIFI is easy to configure, setup and works a treat.

Having spent a few weeks with this printer, I can honestly say it is great! It was very simple to setup and my MacBook detected it straight away. I was able to print some test documents and everything was aligned and clean prints were being produced, none of the old school test pages and alignment configs to do.

I purchased this printer a few weeks ago and have been happy with the results. The printer itself is quite compact and it doesn't take up a lot of space. It currently sits smugly on my desk next to my desktop computer.

    Arrival
The printer turned in a reasonably sized box and everything was packed tightly inside, utilizing what space there was. Getting the printer out of the box was very easy as I just had to lift it out with the handy bag it came wrapped in. There is still a fair bit of packaging to contend with, but at least it can be easily recycled and and my printer wasn't damaged during transportation.

    Setting it up
I found this a bit tricky as the instructions were a bit vague. I also had real problem with Windows 10, but I did some checks online and eventually got it up and running it no time. There isn't a screen on this printer - only buttons for wifi and if there a problem. A screen would be helpful to see what you are doing and to let you know what is going wrong. It took a few attempts to add the printer to my wifi network but I managed it in the end. The printer cartridge is also easy to insert. You just open up the printer and drop it in.

    Printer quality
This printer is black and white only but the quality is really good. It prints a large volume of pages in a matter of minutes. I find it useful for printing drafts to stories I am writing. I like it very much.

    Scanner
Although the printer is black and white, the scanner works in colour. The quality is very clear and sharp - especially useful when you want to copies that are good quality.

If your looking for a good value printer that doesn't cost the earth and prints high volume of documents in a matter of minutes, then this is a great purchase. My only real drawback are the replacement cartridges are a bit expensive especially if you're a bit strapped for cash like me. However, they do last a very long time by printing up to a 1000 pages per cartridge.
    I would definitely recommend it.

    Unboxing and assembly

This took very little ‘assembling’ once unpacked from the box. The instructions are fairly clear and once you’ve unpacked the toner, it’s really very easy to set up. Following the instructions for setup is hassle free. From opening to first print was probably about 8 minutes so you can be up and running very quickly.

    Appearance
I like the look of the LaserJet Pro, it’s compact, neat and I think it would fit well in any home or office. I haven’t owned a LaserJet for years and remember them to be bulky, clunky and not particularly attractive. The Pro sets itself apart from the rest by being easy on the eye and is incredibly user friendly, this version was white which worked well in my office setup.

    Printing capabilities
I really haven’t put this under too much pressure as it boasts to be able to print 18/19ppm. I have however reeled off all my accounts paperwork, scanned in documents and photocopied paperwork with ease and no ‘paper jams’ or error messages.

    App
The app is very user friendly, it’s nice to be able to use multiple avenues to print from; ie via documents saved in google drive, emails, photos etc.

The app shows the ink levels, it’s personally a little vague for my liking - it would be nice to have a percentage, even if it wasn’t fantastically accurate just as a guide, especially if you were mass printing.

    Best Bits
I particularly like the sleep function, I hadn’t realised just how frustrated I used to get at having to go into my study to turn the printer on each time I wanted to print, sometimes forgetting to print straight away if I was distracted and realising my printer had turned itself off in the meantime. The Pro is constantly ready to spring into action at a moments notice and this is a real positive for me.

Overall I’ve really enjoyed using this printer, it’s just what I would need for day to day printing and much more, far excelling my current inkjet and my previous laser jets! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to other users.

The printer is easy to unbox, untab (yes there are a few tabs to remove) and the set up instructions are simple and easy to follow.
The difficulty comes when you press your WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button on your wireless router and press the wifi button on the printer and the 2 don't pair up! Then you could be in a world of hurt. After an 1.5 hours of following all the trouble shooting guides and the HP help page, I finally managed to find a good video on YouTube (good old YouTube) that should me how to set up the printer by connecting it to my PC using the USB cable, then attaching the printer to my wifi network. Finally connected via wireless, I printed page after page seamlessly and with good strong quality black ink.
The printer is an excellent size, compact an unobtrusive. However, the build quality is a tad flimsy is certain areas - the in tray is a half-tray and the A4 paper hangs out the back. Knock past them and the pages are all on the floor.
The out-tray is actually a flap that if you accidentally catch the wrong way then you could easily break it.
In summary, a nice compact mono-printer that prints excellent quality black pages. However, I think it's a tad overpriced and the build quality lacks in certain areas.

I have been using this printer for several weeks & have been impressed with the overall performance, ease in setting it up, using it via an iPhone application, and this is my first wireless printer.

The printer is extremely quiet, extremely efficient and definitely fit for purpose.

I was a little disappointed with the front paper tray, as I don’t feel this is the most aesthetically pleasing, having paper hanging out onto my desk, but other than that the printer is highly compact.

I would definitely recommend, especially for business purposes.
