I bought these for commuting and the next week ended up permanently working from home so didnt get a chance to use them for commuting.
But, they have proved really useful - Very comfortable to wear for video conferencing when connected to the laptop via bluetooth. The noise cancelling is also great ( it can get a bit noisy in the house when I am on a call). They also connect to my phone or Alexa devices to listen to music and the sound quality is excellent.

WOW, I was extremely impressed with these headphones! The sound quality is on point, and superior to that of in-ear headphones due to the larger speakers inside these over-ear headphones, I am totally converted.

The built in assistant button that I have linked to my phone is very handy, as I can save items to my notes/shopping list, set alarms, control my smart-home devices, or add To-Dos, whilst working away or pottering around the house.

The Active Noise Cancellation was much better than I was expecting. At the gym I was unable to hear the noise of all the machines going, in the office it completely blocked out the radio that is played throughout the building, very impressed!
Likewise, the HearThrough feature came in very handy, if I was out and about in public it helped me stay aware of traffic and people around me.
I actually found that with HearThrough I could hear more than if I just didn't have the headphones on at all. As someone with mild hearing loss these have truly been pleasure to use.

They are comfortable, sit nicely on the head and adjusted easily. They automatically turn on when the headphones are turned inwards. They automatically pause the music/video when I take them off my head to speak to someone. Put them back on my head and it automatically starts playing again. They just do everything I would want a pair of headphones to do.

Battery life; This is insane how long these last, I was using them for half of my work day and the battery had gone down about 5%. I honestly think I could get casual use out of these for a whole week and still have battery leftover.
Call quality is great on these, which is unusual for headphones! The Bluetooth connects faster than any other device I have, and they stay connect for a very long distance.
I use them most days at work, having them connected to my laptop whilst wondering around the building, happily ignoring needy co-workers on my travels whilst listening to an audiobook or the radio!

5 out of 5 from me, as someone who is pretty savvy with technology, I honestly was very impressed with these Elite 85h headphones, well done Jabra!

here's my thoughts on the Jabra 85h headset which I am reviewing for Insiders Uk ! First impressions is well, they seem a bit the heavy side especially when compared to my other brand which I have for a few years now and I have to say I love. As headsets go my other is rather good so the 85h has some work to do. onwards …. Ok so im trying not to be biased here but so far the Jabra just doesn't sound as good as my 2 year old top of the range other make - the quality just isn't the same in my opinion that not to say it isn't good as it is very good but I can tell a difference. I do like the google now button and find that very useful for choosing to change tracks without using phone or watch - great for spotify! They look ok and they are comfy ish to wear I still think they are a bit heavy and I find the ear pads cause some major heat to my ears and they get mighty sweaty - hmm yum sweaty ears ;) but seriously my ears we damp maybe just me and my weird biology - check the photo for white stain to ear pad happened seriously quickly which isn't a good sign ? The app is nice and plenty to play with and tweak to your hearts content . The noise cancelling is good. I don't like the 'Hear through' mode used this on my commute and I just found it unpleasant not sure what the benefit is - ANC mode all the way for me ! As a side not the phone use is great and I found this really easy to use for a calls more so than the other headset I usually use - not sure why but this just sounded better to me One niggle on using they just cut out once and were totally dead in the water :( boo giving them a charge now even though the apps reports back as 31% left - weird latest firmware is installed . Lets hope just a one off been playing with for quite a few days now and overall so far im happy and would recommend these depending on your budget - personally I think there are other brands out that that are better and have better features and I feel these are quite expensive but you cant take away they are a good headset in there own right.

The Jabra 85h earphones are a nice, novel approach to over-ear headphones. The sound is excellent, and noise-cancelling very effective. How to turn them on and off was my first puzzle, resolved when a quick web search showed that unfolding them turns on, and refolding them turns off. This could be a problem if they get taken off and left unfolded, though I suspect there they would eventually switch off automatically, as there is a sensor which can tell when the headphones are removed, and thoughtfully pauses and resumes music. They can be paired with multiple devices, and connected to two simultaneously, which is useful if you're using one device for music/video and another for phone calls. I've used these continuously for about five hours over a week, and they've still been comfortable and have lost less than 20% battery from their first charge, which bodes well for usefulness on long plane trips.

The Jabra Elite 85h headset might not be your go-to for listening to motivational music while jogging or other exercise that involves a lot of mobility since the stability is just not good enough if your enthusiastically moving, which might be a surprise when you first try it and realise just how much clamping force is built in. But if your exercise routine mainly involves static machines like a bike or elliptical trainer then you should have no problems at all.
And frankly that covers all the bad points for this headset because the battery endurance is incredible, you can easily get a couple of days worth of listening out of each charge. The headset connects comfortably to multiple devices at once so you can effortlessly move from your phone to your laptop without changing any settings - perfect for remote working and conference calls.
Sound quality is also remarkable, with several built-in profiles to switch between preset ANC / passthrough combinations and with the ability to adjust the amount of passthrough using the app you should have no difficulty blocking out the noisy household as you work. There's no desktop app unfortunately to continue to fine-tune the profiles but you can switch between your presets using a button on the headset itself so if you need to hide your phone away to get away from interfering notifications you can.
On a more personal note, my son seems to be more affected than most when it comes to interruptions and distractions but he was able to concentrate for the first time in ages while using the ANC on this headset, so if your child is also struggling with distance learning then maybe a noise cancelling headset will also help them to stay focussed.
Lastly, the included carry case should help to ensure that the headset stays in pristine condition for longer and just like the headset it's build quality is outstanding.

The Jabra Elite 85h is a great headset that was easy to setup thanks to the useful phone app and provides really good sound quality. The Moments and Sound Modes are useful, allowing you to set different modes for different environments, giving control over what you hear. These features are usually easy to change via the headset once setup in the app. ANC is very effective and blocks out most background noise, whilst HearThrough allows you to easily hear conversations, providing great control over the headset. Soundscapes are cool, giving you background noises that make you feel like you are elsewhere. Personal favourites are Perfect Storm and Ocean Waves! Firmware is easy to update via the app. The voice assistant took a while to get the hang of, but it’s a very useful feature that’s easy to use. On-ear detection works well, pausing the audio just after the headset is taken off.
There are a couple of issue. Charging is a bit annoying as the cable is short and there’s no quick way to see when it’s fully charged. Being USB C though, it is easy enough to get an alternate charge cable, and with it’s fast charge capability, it’s got a good amount of listening time with only 15 minutes of charging!
It’s also a shame you need to download something to your PC for control when connected to one – sometimes companies don’t allow staff to download things to their devices, so unfortunately Moments and Sound Modes are difficult to control. When connected to a PC and phone at the same time, the headset sometimes gets confused, again making Moments and Sound Modes difficult to control. The HearThrough mode amplifies some unwanted sounds, such as air-con machines, which is annoying and can cause a distraction.

Everything about these headphones is impressive, I was even impressed by the sleek packaging when I first received them. Setting them up using the Sound+ app was quick and easy, and it was great exploring the music presets and soundscapes available. I love the fact that you turn them on and off just by rotating the ears, and they automatically connect to your phone. If you take them off your music pauses, and then starts again when you put them back on. It’s so simple but so clever! Music sounds great, and calls sound great too. The only tiny annoyance is that the music doesn’t restart after a call ends. ANC is a godsend, especially as my husband is also working from home during Coronavirus, making calls and generally being a noisy nuisance. When I need to concentrate I can block out background noise, conversations, car alarms etc, and when I need to be able to hear what’s going on, for example, out for a walk and crossing the road, I switch it to HearThrough. You can also switch these settings off, making them just like regular headphones. They’re lightweight and very comfortable to wear, as they can be easily adjusted to fit. One of the most impressive features is the battery life. They don’t take long to charge, and I got so much use out of them before needing to charge them again, easily the 36 hours that the website claims. I really do think that these headphones represent excellent value for money with their high-quality audio, optimum noise cancellation and high levels of comfort. The app is a lovely bonus to ensure you get the best out of them.

What an amazing set of headphones. Come in premium packaging with a premium looking carry case and some accompanying accessories. The noise cancelling is perfect. This is my first pair of active noise cancelling headphones and I was very impressed. They are extremely comfortable to wear even with my big head. The hear through feature is brilliant especially when receiving calls. The app that goes with this headset is full of settings and features and works very well. I would highly recommend these to anyone wanting a premium headset. Perfect for every day use with a long battery life.

Wireless headphones with noise-cancelling smarts have traditionally not come cheap. And if they have come cheap, they’ve been found severely lacking. Having regretted my last purchase of over-the-ear noise makers since day one, and having not encountered Jabra before, it’s fair to say I wasn’t expecting great things from the Jabra Elite 85h. I was, in fact, pleasantly surprised.

These headphones look the business in a stylish titanium black and build quality here is excellent. The cans feel solid and curl up pleasingly into their carry case when not in use and switch on automatically as the speakers twist into place. The accompanying app allows you to tweak settings and audio patterns and defaults for both music and speech sound good and battery life (a quoted 36 hours with ANC on) is excellent.

As for the Smart Active Noise Cancellation? Here the 85h provides a much better experience than my last set of headphones. Even in a busy office (before lockdown!) these provide an amazing level of privacy and seclusion and on the commute (again, before lockdown) the Hear Through mode allows important announcements to pierce your auditory bubble and Smart Sound mode makes adjustments in response to the sounds picked up from your environment. It’s smart stuff and it works more than the price tag would lead you to suspect.

The music stops when you remove the ‘phones from your head and picks right back up as the speakers swivel back into their listening position. My only complaint? The lack of on-device controls to nudge to the next track but that’s a minor quibble when you consider the technological smarts packed into this stylish package, making Jabra a name well worth considering if you’re in the market for noise-cancelling cans that actually work!

Have had these for a while now and I have been very pleased with them, I got them primarily for travelling at the time as I was using trains a lot and these fitted the bill perfectly.
The ability to switch between noise cancelling and hearing the background noise was very useful to hear train announcements etc.
I found them to be very comfortable and have recently be using them whilst using power tools and they have fulfilled that very well, I recently wore them for about 7 hours and can say for me they were very comfortable, and I have been impressed with the battery life.
Personally I would recommend these as in my experience they have been a very good piece of kit.

Decent headphones for the RRP but personally there are better noise cancelling competitors out there. They arrived in a sleek very professional looking box and sturdy looking carry case. In the case were the headphones, charging wire, manual headphone wire and a standard airplane adaptor.

Setting up the headphones was easy via Bluetooth with a voice over letting you know you had connected. An additional device could be connected such as a laptop, saving you from taking the headphones off or switching devices if a call came through. The Jabra Sound+ phone app found on Android or iPhone app stores aided the set up and is sleek and simple to use, allowing you to set up a warranty, find the location of your headphones, check for updates and change the noise type, as well as attach Alexa, Siri or Google assistant to the headphones. The app just added touch of genius setting them apart from competitors.

As for the headphones themselves, the quality of materials was next to none, arriving in a high quality faux leather bound zip case and high quality material headphones inside with fabric covered earcups. You cannot argue that they are well made headphones, and I would expect nothing less. The Scandinavians know how to build technological wonders.

The operational use of the headphones was easy. To turn on the headphones, all you have to do is open them up. THIS AMAZED ME! Provided you had your Bluetooth on, they just connected seamlessly straight away, allowing you to play music, podcasts or even an audiobook. Whatever you fancied you could play it.

As for the build of the headphones, it was simple. The right earcup has the play, pause, skip back or forward and answer a call buttons whilst on the left earcup, there is a button located on the back edge that allows you to flip through:

    - Active Noise Cancellation [ANC] (For the most part amazing but I found in some scenarios (mainly out and about) I could still hear noise around me but did block MOST noise out, however this could be seen as beneficial to some users)
    - Hear Through (Can listen to your audio easily whilst still aware of all noises around you)
    - Off (Can hear everything around you, difficult to hear audio unless alone)

You can also wear these headphones in most conditions, if they get wet from the rain, not to worry, just continue listening and stick them somewhere warm when you get home such as near a radiator and they'll be good as new in an hour. They really are weather resistant and it surprised me but its true! just maybe not wear them in torrential rain I doubt they'd survive that for extended periods of time!

Regarding the battery life, it is astonishing! Working 7-8 hours, five days a week in a noisy environment, I tended to have ANC turned on and I only had to charge them once at the end of the week! 15 minutes got 5 hours listening time and after about 2.5 hours, you reached full charge again! If you used them on and off you could probably go a couple of weeks without charge!

Overall I am more than happy with these noise cancelling headphones. I still wear them out and about and would definitely recommend them for anyone after some decent high quality headphones especially if you're not wanting to pay £300+ for absolute top of the range. They give the best headphones out there a run for their money. Simple, Sturdy, and Stylish.

The Jabra 85h is a nice set of headphones. Putting them on I wished they extended slightly more than they do as the fit isn't perfect for me.

The noise cancellation is very impressive as the headphones cup around your ears. Pairing is easy and they support pairing with two devices at the same time. Rather than having a power button they turn on automatically when you unfold them.

I would have preferred just having a power button/switch instead as that's more intuitive. It feels like this is trying to solve something that isn't a problem.

Battery life has been good for me. Sound quality is great

I was delighted to receive a pair of Titanium Black Jabra Elite 85h Wireless Bluetooth Headphones with The Insiders last month. Not only my first time using over the ear style headphones it's my first experience with noise cancellation. I'm definitely not disappointed in the quality & was very surprised by how good music sounds from these! My top pro's: Smart Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), custom music settings via the SmartSound App, brilliant long life battery (up to 36hrs with ANC on), Voice Assistant, Airplane connection + carry case are beautifully made, comfortable/wearable for long periods without that dreaded ear sweat, lightweight, SmartSound adapts automatically to your surroundings, easy to use controls, connects upto two devices at a time, it instantly stops playback once it leaves your ears so no missing out or having to pause, quick to charge. The only con: It took me about a week to adjust my hearing to getting used to the ANC sweeping through till the perfect setting, once I had gotten used to that I hardly notice it now but it initially was a little 'swimmy' to listen too. Overall I'm over the moon with these headphones. Compared to the older Sony Wireless headphones (that my friend owns) these do feel much nicer in hand, have an excellent build quality & the sound is better overall. So I'll be sticking with these. Plus they are rain resistant and come with a 2 year warranty upon registration.

I received the Jabra Elite 85h headphones as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review.

As someone that loves music, having the right pair of headphones to do the music justice is very important. So unboxing the Jabra Elite 85h headphones, I was a little apprehensive but also excited. I already owned three pairs of bluetooth headphones and earphones and two wired pairs.

The box looked good and robust, and when I slide the headphones out, the case looked nice and sturdy and would do an excellent job of protecting them.

The build quality was superb. A nice thick headband supported and held two strong cups with a decent solid hinge that allows them to be folded up into the case.

I then put them on charge so I could give them a long test for the first outing. Whilst charging them, I downloaded the Jabra app to my phone and paired them all up. In the box were a USB to UBS-C charger, a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack lead and a dual adapter for plugging them in on an aeroplane (or similar).

Whilst they were charging, the decision as to what to play first through then was a challenge. As someone that likes house music, I wanted a song with a great range of sounds, and a nice fat baseline to boot.

Putting them on my head for the first time, I was hugely impressed with their comfort and how much noise they blocked out (without the noise cancelling active). And as someone that wears glasses, most of the time headphones are not comfortable with a big pair of cans on. These were a pleasant surprise for their size.

The first song played did not disappoint. I was playing with the various settings to ensure I got the best sound I could out of them, and finally settled on a custom setting.

The controls are easy to use, and the sound quality was phenomenal. The battery lasts an astonishing 36hours but so far I have only used about 22 hours. The anti noise cancelling can be set to responsive so will adjust to your surroundings, which was strange at first but I now see this as a big plus and it does great filtering out the noise around you.

Call quality is really good with these, although not sure how clear I am from the other side with noise around me, but was pleasantly surprised.

The controls are easy to use, once you get used to them, but having the app makes life easier.

Overall I am really impressed with these and will certainly used them for all my travelling.

I have owned the headphones for about a month and in the current lock down they are invaluable as the whole family is at home. I can disappear into a world of my own with these.
    The battery life is amazing.
    They are very comfortable
I love the noise cancelling setting. It puts me in a world of my own. In the kitchen with the tumble drier going whilst cooking dinner all I can hear is the sound from the headphones. The rest of the world is completely drowned out. There is also the option to turn this off and a hear through option which allows you to hear conversation without removing the headphones.
The app is very straightforward to download and simple to use. I would like the fit to be a bit better. If I look down they slide forward and this is on the smallest setting.
I love the way you can turn them off by folding them flat.
They are rather bulky to take out and about unless you plan to use them continuously whilst out but they are fantastic for travelling in a car or plane as they can completely block out external noise. I have earbuds as well as the headphones and both have their place in my life. However, I prefer the sound quality of these headphones.
You can adjust the sound in the app or have and create an automatic setting. This will connect up to 8 devices. They are not too heavy and automatically cut the sound if I take them off. I can also pause the music by pressing a button on the right earphone. The more I use them the more I discover. Bluetooth is a fantastic invention but there is also an option to connect them via a cable if your device does not support bluetooth. I am so far very impressed with the sound, features and quality of these ear phones

I have been using these headphones for a few months now and they have been fantastic. Very comfortable to wear for extended periods, very easy to connect and setup and the Sound+ app lets you customise sound modes and the equalizer which is fantastic. The noise cancellation and hear through modes are great, and you can easily switch between them with a button on the left ear cup. They fit around my ears snugly so the cancellation is very effective. For the features, comfort and sound, i'd very much recommend these.

The Jabra Elite 85h headphones are very good. Right out of the box they were charged and very easy to pair and start using. The app is great, allowing for a decent amount of customization, although I was more than happy with the original settings.

The materials used are fantastic quality and they truly feel premium and luxurious. The woven look is very stylish and modern. Due to this, they are very comfortable and I happily wore them for long periods without any issues of soreness.

I love that my music is paused when I take them off, which makes life a lot easier. The ANC is also pretty great. I look forward to trying this feature out when travelling, in the near future.

My one issue is that of turning them off. I find it a little annoying having to fold them each time as it means I can't hang them on a stand, and thus they can look a little untidy lying around. Using the case every time is a little annoying. An on/off switch option would have been ideal.

All in all a great pair of headphones!

The Jabra Elite 85h are my first pair of headphones with ANC. It was this feature that I was most looking forward to experiencing, and it doesn't disappoint. Outside noise is very well minimised, although there is a noticable 'pressure' feeling in the ears whilst this is activated. It's something I've gotten used to, and not a big deal once familiar with it. This is probably exacerbated by the fact that these are 'over ear' rather than 'on ear' headphones - although this definitely helps with the sound isolation.

There are different ANC modes which can be toggled using the app, or automatically selected by the app on your phone (which processes the sound picked up by the headphones) - this can take a while to change the mode and doesn't always select the mode you might want.

The physical button which switches between Active Noise Cancelling / Hearthrough Off has occasionally stopped working and required me to power them off and on again to be able to toggle without using the app.

I've been very happy with the sound quality when listening to music & podcasts. The accompanying app in the most part works very well, although it's annoying to have to reach for my phone to change the settings when using the headphones with my computer (they support connecting to two devices simultaneously, too). Call quality is excellent also.

The battery life is awesome. I charge them what feels like very occasionally, but I've never actually had the charge get as low as 50% so I need to charge them less!

Overall I'm very pleased with these headphones.
